BLACKBERRY MONT BLANC
Description: This easy to grow variety bears fruit on this years growth, meaning it can be cut down each winter after fruiting. Very large fruits appear earlier than other Blackberries, around mid-August. As a small variety it is ideal for container planting.
Blackberry Growing Tips: Happier planted in a sunny, sheltered site but they can tolerate light shade. Prefer moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Blackberries are vigorous and need regular pruning. Tie in the shoots of newly-planted canes. Once they reach their first winter, cut back all sideshoots on the main cains. If you would like to eat the fruits yourself, don't forget to cover the plant to stop the birds getting them!
